Information We Collect

When you use our speed test service, we collect:

• IP address for geographic location and ISP detection
• Test results (download/upload speeds, ping, jitter)
• Technical information about your connection
• If you request an API key: the email and website you enter and the IP address of the request
• If you use the proxy checker: the IP address, network owner, network type and approximate location, kept under the check number
• If you use our Telegram bot: your Telegram user ID, username, first name and language, linked to your tests so the bot can show your history

How We Use Information

We use collected data to:

• Provide accurate speed test results
• Generate aggregated statistics
• Improve our service quality
• Detect and prevent abuse
• Contact API key holders about the API; we do not send marketing emails

Data Storage

Test results are kept to build aggregated statistics, such as typical speed by internet provider. After 30 days we shorten stored IP addresses: the last part of the address is removed, so a record no longer points to a specific connection. Server logs are kept for up to 30 days.

Tests made through the Telegram bot stay linked to your Telegram account so the bot can show your history. To have them removed, write to privacy@speedmeter.dev.

Third Parties

We do not sell or trade your information. We use CDN services for content delivery, and third-party analytics services — Yandex Metrica and Google Analytics 4 — which receive data about your visit, including IP address, browser and device information, referring page and pages viewed.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for service functionality. We also use analytics cookies set by Yandex Metrica and Google Analytics 4 to understand how the service is used. Yandex Metrica Session Replay (Webvisor) records page interactions such as mouse movement, clicks and scrolling. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not run advertising networks on this site.
